JVWCD Education Center

Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District's Education Center is designed to the highest of standards, and achieved a LEED® Platinum certification. The Education Center is meant to be a regional learning facility, where groups and individual can gather to learn principles of water conservation and sustainability. The building includes a wing for the JVWCD staff, a catering kitchen, and three classrooms that are capable of seating more than 170 people. A two-foot thick rammed earth wall separates the classrooms from the Education Center's 870 square foot greenhouse. This project also included the construction of photovoltaic roof panels, a new entrance to the Conservation Garden Park, a new parking area with permeable concrete, vehicle and pedestrian bridges, and instructional signage around the site.
