The Scott M. Matheson Jr. High features two full size gymnasiums, an auditorium that seats 1,155 students, and a two story classroom wing. The building was constructed with Atlas Brick, and has a metal deck and joist roof structure. The roof is a built-up system and contains several Kalwall Skylights. The structure has a complicated radius design that was constructed with brick and metal composite panels. The ceiling reaches heights of 40 feet in the gymnasiums and 45 feet in the auditorium. The site also includes a ball field with a full size rubberized track.
