Papeete Tahiti Temple

The Papeete Tahiti Temple was the first temple built in French Polynesia and the fifth built in Polynesia. It was one of three smaller temples to be built in the area, replacing previous plans for one regional temple in the Pacific. The temple was designed and constructed in a way that it should be able to withstand the extreme weather conditions that can occur in the area. Nearly ninety percent of all the materials that went into the construction of the temple had to be shipped from the United States and other countries by container.
