VAMC Building 1 Renovation

The VA awarded three separate projects to Comtrol, the largest of which was the renovation of the Medical Center Building 1, followed by the Cardio-Curtain Wall and BioMed projects. In general, these projects provided for a total interior & exterior renovation of 3 wings, with 3 stories each of existing and occupied hospital patient facilities. This also included an addition of a 4th floor, the construction of a new exterior glass-metal curtain wall facade, and included new mechanical and electrical "hospital grade" installations. During the project, access to various hospital areas was carefully scheduled to minimize noise and impact to on-going hospital functions. Some of the design build elements of the project included the interior structural walls and exterior 4 story curtain wall.
